Internal Pelvic Release Work
Why is Internal Pelvic Release Work such important birth preparation?
Your birth requires a combination of intense will and surrender both physically and psychologically. IPRW is a rich opportunity to attune to your body generally and your pelvic tissues specifically to support them to release any unknown or unnecessary tensions prior to birthing. Being informed about the tone of your pelvic tissues is important information. No one wants to labour any longer than necessary, and IPRW makes good use of the later period of pregnancy to connect in with these tissues to create more ease and space. Birth education is integral to these sessions. IPRW is recommended from 32 weeks up to birth.

Scar Tissue Release
Why is scar tissue release so important for all bodies?
Scars are the generous healing and holding of our life experiences. The adhesions that occur when layers of tissue need to reknit as part of our recovery (whether it be from any type of surgery, traumatic events or birth) impact on our physical and emotional health. When fibres amass to create scars there can be disruption to nerve coherence, blood and lymph flow and connective tissue integrity. This can cause pain and disrupt function. This can also cause a sense of disconnect within the body as a whole.
Scar tissue release involves sustained attention on your scar with an attuned touch, following the fibres to dissolve any fascial adhesions. The scar we see on the skin is an iceberg with far-reaching impacts extending far beyond the site below the surface. I will perceive any tension and torsion around the scar site which is referring to other parts of the body and provide bodywork to support your body to reintegrate as a whole. Scars respond quickly to care and the response is profound.
